Description
Flipfire Bakery is a fast and simple card game about comparing all sorts of things. It’s ideal for pre-counters and pre-readers, who are still learning how to compare size and color, but also plays nicely with older kids if you enable the expansions.
The default mode is competitive (you win by scoring most cards), but it includes a cooperative mode too (you play together, taking turns at the same time).
The game contains 5 sets: size, color, more/less on fire, numbers, letters. You decide which sets you want to play with, adapting the game to what you want to practice or what your players can handle.
Each set adds a few cards and a double-sided coin. Why? Because this game has one simple rule:
You’re allowed to play a card only if it matches what the coin says!
For example, maybe the coin shows “BIGGER” right now. Then you’re only allowed to play cards that show a BIGGER icon than the current top card.
Specific situations allow you to flip that coin to “SMALLER”, though. Use your flips to help yourself get rid of cards … or to make your opponents unable to play!
With multiple sets enabled, you have multiple coins (one per “attribute”). This provides a solid challenge in learning to compare different attributes of the same thing, and finding the one that allows you to play the most cards. Once familiar with the base game, you can make the jump to the numbers set and introduce the Apprentices to counting (up to 12).
Have fun and keep learning!

Subject: Mathematics
The curriculum is split into six main subjects that align with your typical school subjects.
This resource is part of the Mathematics subject. Below is a summary:
This subject teaches Mathematics from first principles to calculus. Level 1 explores the basic skills needed before you do any counting or see any numbers (such as grouping and comparing objects). Level 2(+) can then introduce numbers, counting, addition, multiplication, and more.

Faction: Gamiverses
This resource is part of the Gamiverses Faction.
But that's just one way to teach and explore its topic(s)!
You can always move to a different Faction to find a more effective way to teach the same topic.
Played a quiz? Try a game! Played a game? Try an escape room! And so on.

Charm: Board Game
This product is part of the Board Game charm.
Visit its main page to learn more about what that means. Below is a summary:
Board Games are simply physical games (as opposed to video games). They could be played using cards, without a board, with players physically moving around, anything.
Our board games follow the rule that your first game should only require a single page of setup + rules. Most of them are cooperative multiplayer experiences.
Spell: My First Comparisons
This resource is part of the My First Comparisons topic (or "spell").
Earlier topics taught Apprentices to identify if things are the same or not. This topic takes the next step: HOW are they different? This also gently introduces the idea of sequencing: putting things in order based on … something.
This resource also covers other topics. To keep things simple, the curriculum always considers the first topic listed to be the most important.

| Hi-Lo Flip | This game uses similar core gameplay, but only a single coin (higher/lower) and cards from 1 to 99. It inspired us to simplify gameplay and make it available to pre-counters (kids who can’t count yet), as well as introduce different types of coins to flip for more varied gameplay. |
